How to proceed with the workshop?

I bought a Touran a few months ago. After a week it was discovered that the car had a broken water pump. A supposed garage then picked up the car, repaired it, and then wrecked the engine due to incorrect timing. The second engine was also wrecked due to incorrect timing. Two months later, I had the car picked up from there and took it to another garage. The car has been there again for a month now. The engine was apparently running according to the cylinder head plan, etc. Then they said the wiring harness was defective. A few days later, a bearing failure in the engine (which was replaced), then the rocker arm was defective, and now the seals are leaking. They put it off from one week to the next. The first garage has already transferred the entire amount to the second garage, which was agreed upon. Now the garage wants money from me for all the other things (bearing shells, wiring harness, rocker arms). The car is not drivable and is still at the garage. What should I do now? What legal steps can I take? I depend on the car and I am a single mother.

Now they're saying that the cylinder head and camshaft seals, etc., are leaking. But the car has never lost any oil.

I've seen your other, previous question… () If the other engine has been scraped due to incorrect control times, it is questionable whether you get the one with plan of the head back. There it takes new valves… also new connecting rod bearings. Then almost a new engine would have.

You are not responsible for the further costs incurred. However, I wonder what you mean by " The first workshop has already transferred the complete sum to the second workshop, which was agreed . " This sounds like the first workshop got a free letter if it paid an amount XX. This is also responsible for the follow-up costs. Because your original engine only had a defective water pump.

Now good advice is really expensive and takes unpredictable proportions. Because you are still very few possibilities. And… you shouldn't let unnecessary time pass.

Especially since the 2nd workshop seems to be in no way in the quality of the pudding of the 1st. You say, " Engine probably ran to plan cylinder head, etc…. "

Then a cable harness should have been defective. Then the engine didn't run before! Days later a warehouse damage in the engine… Why didn't you take the car after the cable harness? And the bearing damage is not on your cap either. Just as little as a defective rocker. Is there a wrong fit after the head was planned….???

I guess not, but I'm pretty sure you're being pulled over the table as an ignorant. The next two steps should look like this:

  • Take a lawyer to help
  • Join the nation and describe your problem.
  • Take a reviewer, possibly also over the lawyer, and let the alleged damage be taken by an expert.
  • Don't pay a penny to the workshop before the facts are clear!

I'm really sorry… But unfortunately you found 2 raven-black sheep at the workshops and your remaining possibilities are now very low! Would you like to say something else?…

Without a lawyer, you're not gonna be there.
Take someone with you who knows about cars, or drive past a car in the test drive, TÜV, DEKRA or GTÜ. There you take a Hunni in your hand and let the car check out BEFORE you buy it. the defective water pump is immediately noticed.
But the child has now fallen into the well, and you seem to have got two not so trustworthy workshops.

Get legal assistance… that sounds very like a massive chat in the workshops you can't do. Alone, it could be quite difficult to enforce your demands.

Do you have a warranty from the dealer? Or was the purchase private?

Clear warranty or warranty claim (depending on whether new or used cars)

You just get an appointment with a lawyer specializing in taking ALL documents and then you'll see what's going on

That sounds really adventurous what's going on.

You should get legal assistance.
