I bought a red Japanese maple from Kölle (Atropurpureum) in the hope that it would grow into a nice, broad tree. How should I plant or replant it? The small one is mine, the other one is the desired size.

Das ist ein Ahorn, der verträgt das ziemlich schlecht! Je feiner die Blätter, desto empfindlicher sind sie.

In normalen Garten Boden, relevant ist hier nur einen Trieb stehen zu lassen.
Also bis auf unbegrenzt so stehen lassen? Sollte ich ihn dann mal beschneiden, wegen der wunschform…?
Ich hoffe du hast nicht verstanden, das Gartenboden in den Topf soll? Nein der Ahorn muss raus in den Boden gepflanzt werden. Ganz einfach Du wirst ja wohl einen platz dafür vorher gesehen haben.
Und wenn man eine Pflanze auf Form haben will, muss man die logischerweise Jedes Jahr beschneiden.
Ich vorhin was übersehen. Das weiße ist ein Figur kein Baumstamm. Dann kannst du auch mehrere Triebe stehenlassen.
Es gibt auch Ausnahmen…

I'm 29… I live in an old Berlin apartment, and my landlord has terminal cancer and is in the hospital. Only those on the lowest floor have a 4-square-meter garden. I have a 5-square-meter balcony with a parapet, and like my neighbor, I want to grow a medium-sized Japanese maple and other plants there.
Oh, and my favorite food is Bolognese 🙂
Usually, however, no trees are planted.
Two things come to mind:
Are you allowed to put it up then? Not every apartment has to belong to the same landlord. Lawns are used as soccer fields.
In our residential areas that come from the city, planting is generally prohibited, so the risk of hitting a house's power line is relevant.
And the same as my neighbor, how old are you? If I may, I would put something completely different.
Gardens should be colorful, especially in areas without gardens.
No, actually, I don't have a garden. Not everyone does either. My neighbor with the same tree managed to grow it 2.5 meters tall and 2 meters wide… that shouldn't be a problem…
