Why does this just sound like dry cleaning or good old hand wash? The cap can also be soaked in hand-warm water with a little washing powder and then rinsed repeatedly with clear water, which should be sufficient for pure welding spots (is ultimately water-soluble salt).

There is a significant difference between hand and machine wash… and I also proposed the dry cleaning as an alternative.

There is a care label that you can remove everything. You should keep that.

In case of doubt (if the price of the cap is justified) give in the cleaning.

decent, washing machine-resistant caps.
