How tight can I tighten the screw?

Hello mechanic,

I have an 8.8 screw.
i.e. the screw breaks at 800 N/mm2

I have a torque wrench here that has Nm specifications. At what Nm will my 8.8 bolt break?

I can't find an answer online that helps me.
Is there a formula for converting?

No one can answer this!

Material of the screw and parts of the joint? Is connected dry or cuffed? In the latter, the torque must be reduced! Screw securing, yes/no? =>Welch? Self-locking nut? – Locking ring? Liquefied screw securing?

You see, the tightening torque cannot simply be determined

Whether the screw is running at all depends on what material it is screwed to.

The correct tightening torque has many influencing factors (material pairing, screw (gloss, material, thread type), application area, etc.)

with your 900 newton meters you won’t be able to start much. torsional stress is quite different from shear or tensile stress.

in the tabular book metal is safe. how much. to others without risk:

PS: the whole comes from a side called “google” there I just entered the tightening torque and get it out.

You have all the necessary information, we don’t. You know the tensile strength, now you measure the diameter of the screw core, calculate its surface. And from the screw pitch the transmission ratio of rotational movement to tensile loading.

Or you can look into a relevant table.

if it tears it will bring nix. Why always wear with the prescribed torque if this does not need one with higher strength

The aim is probably not to tear them off;)

Why should they tear? If there is a good screw, pull the tight and good.
