How safe is it to work on the roof as an electrician?
As an electrician, you sometimes have to install solar panels on the roof. Is there a high probability of falling, or are you protected somehow?

There are a number of regulations that make work on the roof safe by the BG (vocational cooperatives). Lake:
Block note book – Work on roofs
or
Installation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems
No reasonable craftsman turns around on the roof without proper safety. Maybe rooftops are a little more pain-free. But in the case of an accident without a fuse, they go out empty.
There are very strict regulations, especially by the professional community.
From a certain height, craftsmen – no matter what structure – must not be allowed without scaffolding or other fixed devices installed on the house work against crash.
Depending on the location, a climbing harness with leash must also be worn.
Unfortunately, this is often ignored in practice. "When I slide, I'm stuck on the roof gutter at the last moment, which looks nicely stable!" one often gets to hear from chimney sweeps and rooftops. Even if they can do this and hold the gutter, then what? Wait for dinner? Then it's time to stop.
At my house such a scaffold for 3 to 4 days costs about €1000. To the "luck" I once had storm damages paid the insurance so that I got free a scaffold about which then other craftsmen could still repair and remove the facade. The scaffolding company was so nice not to pick up the thing immediately so there was enough time left.
Of course, it is assured that there are extensive regulations for occupational safety in Germany.
How many times have you heard of any of the electricians falling from heaven in recent years?
Of course, there are also personal protective equipment for work at height.
Gives enough rooftops that fall from the roof I hear again and again. But thanks for the answer
Hello,
it's always a bite of a mulsy feeling,
for a few minutes.
You get used to the heights quickly.
And with the right protective equipment, no problem.

What is protective equipment? Airbags?
If possible, safety goods with belt-shock absorbers, otherwise safety stand etc… Look in the regulations of the veer safety carriers/occupation associations for work on roofs (there is free), there is everything that is required to ensure the safety of the work…

The required security measures.

I know how it is.
I've often stumbled enough unsecured up there.
Because once again "almost almost" had to go.
Until the boss reacted….
Actually, you should call the professional association…
But I got a very good seatbelt, someday privately.
With which I can run all day.

You gave me a good advice. But I don't look at myself because I don't get on the roof.
Thought the irony would be recognizable.
Of course, every electrician has a fuse.
If you're protected, nothing can happen. If you don't, you didn't lose anything on the roof.
So “actually” people are secured, and there is a skeleton at the roof edge.
If your boss wants to send you to the roof, you can and should refuse.
No one can judge if you fall down here. I believe that no one has to look for something on the roof that has no appropriate training, where these areas and the handling of it are involved.
Someone urgently needs a training. Since when do you work unsecured in such danger areas?
“Are these people safe?”
"Are you stupid? How long have you been doing something like that?? Unbelievable
Who's stupid, I'm just wondering at your pointless comment. If you're trying to do something, please put it in the right place, because I didn't write it.
I've heard rooftops fall off the roof. I wouldn't be sharp on it. Of course you can't judge this, but the probability that you're falling down is given without backup. But thanks for the answer.
Funny, how one of the sentences was actually transferred quite directly and you still don't understand that it was an interpretation of your literally stupid answer.
Distract? Sorry, but now really… I'm out of here
Dumb is not to know what quotations are. Back to primary school with you.
Are you stupid you wrote, not I 😉 Dumb is other than stupid.
First give totally annoyed, unhelpful answers, after that the criticism is so misunderstood that you feel so attacked. Wow! You have talent!
I didn't call you stupid. Read it again.
Says the one who calls others stupid. Just keep your ball flat and learn to answer/comment properly.
