How much would I have to pay to the health insurance company as a student if I work freelance and also take on a student job?

Hello everyone! 😊

I'm currently a student and work freelance, which earns me about €200 a month. I'm now considering taking on a student job, which would earn me around €520 per month. This would bring my total monthly income to €720.

Does anyone know how this would affect my health insurance contributions? Will the student job even be financially worthwhile?

Thank you in advance for your help and experiences!

It may be a mini-job and not an activity that is subject to the work-study regulations.

The income limit for family insurance (505€/538€/~607.50) would probably be exceeded.

The student insurance contribution is independent of income (~130€).

In the voluntary insurance, only the minimum contribution (~230€) should be due.

Private insurance premiums depend on income. For co-insurance plans, you should check the terms and conditions.

Irrespective of this, in the case of self-employed activities, it should be checked whether it is a commercial or freelance activity and the corresponding reports should be submitted.

As long as you work 20 hours per week, you are subject to the statutory health insurance tax (KVdSt). And you pay the standard contribution.
