How much RAM does an Intel i5 5200u have?

Hi, I have a question: My laptop has an i5 5200u, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, and a GeForce 860M. Are there any upgrade options? Would an eGPU be a good option? (The laptop has neither a Thunderbolt 3 nor a Thunderbolt 4 port.)

  1. Most older notebooks with the features you describe can only be expanded to a maximum of 16 or 32 GB of RAM. If you want to know whether you can upgrade your device to 32 GB of RAM, you'll need to download the specifications or user manual for your model from the notebook manufacturer and then consult it.
  2. CPUs are rarely replaceable on notebooks. You should assume this isn't possible in your case.
  3. There were older models that had a replaceable graphics card, but since you have a GeForce 860M, I assume that this is not possible for you either.
  4. TB3 or TB4 cannot normally be retrofitted. At least I'm not aware of any PCMCIA card that would allow this, and your notebook would also have to have such a PCMCIA card port.
  5. I would advise against using an eGPU anyway.
