Quote of the page zoll.de: “Please note!

Jewellery and other articles of precious metal Gemstones are not considered to be equivalent means of payment and must therefore not be displayed when entering Germany from the EU and when leaving Germany to the EU.”

The 10,000 euros thus apply virtually only to goldbars or other unprocessed gold.

The weight refers only to the amount of baggage that can be taken on the plane free of charge and varies from airline to Flugesellschaft. This quantity has NOT to do with the limits for duty-free import to Germany!!!

Depending on whether it is jewellery, you have free for 430 € as a flight traveler. If the jewel is more expensive than 430, the free limit will fall and you will pay full.

You can insert fixed gold (breads, coins) unrestricted. However, it is then advisable to remove a cash application, although gold bars are not considered as cash i.S.d inches.

Since so far all responses have been extremely little concrete or even wrong, here comes the link to the customs page on which you can read. Unfortunately, you do not write which country you want to travel to Germany, so you need to choose whether you want to fly from an EU country or from a non-EU country to Germany.

Basically, you can import as much gold as you want, only you have to pay when crossing the free limit charges (import sales tax and, if applicable, customs). And with the free limits it is only according to the value (which you have to prove, otherwise it is estimated by the customs (and the estimated value is usually higher than what you actually pay, because you negotiate yourself with the sellers…) and not by weight.

For example, if you come from Turkey (i.e. a non-EU country), it is only 430 euros free!

The EUR 10,000 applies only to cash when travelling within the EU. For goods within the EU, it is true that the amount ” must be intended for personal consumption” – for gold (or gold jewellery) for 10,000 euros, this can be difficult. And where the 25% inch comes from, I don’t want to go straight…

I am am amazed that people give such “tollen” answers! If you are already spicing from Freimenegen, you would also name it in concrete terms – or put a link where the questioner can find it!! Such vague answers can also be saved.
