How much can my child earn with citizen's allowance?

We receive citizen's allowance of 250 euros per month, but my child has taken on a part-time job since May 2024 to finance a driver's license, etc. My child is not currently attending school because the job also offers further training opportunities and she has a chance of training there. She earns "only" 695 euros net per month. Now we are threatened with a repayment of 800 euros because they want to include my child's salary and they calculated it at 71 euros per month. My question is, how much is my child allowed to earn? Unfortunately, we earn far too little money for her to be able to afford something like a driver's license. Is it justified that they want to reduce my citizen's allowance or that they want to include my child? She is currently 20.

The whole thing sounds like she should put her license on ice until she really deserves enough money.

For the FS you have to pay €2500 to €3500 today. And after that? Then she still has no car to drive. By car, the costs are really going on.

And it doesn't make sense to make the FS and then take a 2 or 3 year break before you really drive car.

It's right. Parents and children are also subject to maintenance. In addition, as a family, it forms a community of needs, also because of this, all incomes are taken to earn.

The fact that one cannot finance something (also) professionally relevant like a car registration certificate itself is simply an unspeakable failure of our social and tax system.

Children are not subject to maintenance

Of course, the child's income on the child's child is estimated to be citizens' money.

Whether the amount of recovery is justified cannot be said.

The Child should go to school, otherwise there'll be some fines. (Edit: Sorry, age overread. School compulsory will not exist)

Every income, every activity must be reported.

Everyone can earn unlimited, but then you need less or no citizen's money.

As a pupil, the child may earn unlimited in the holiday without any credit, during school days up to the minijob limit.
