According to current statistics, there are around 1.1 billion websites worldwide. However, this figure should be considered with caution, as a large part of it is inactive. Of the 1.1 billion websites, only about 194 million are active, which corresponds to about 18 percent of the total number

In August 2024 there are over 1.1 billion websites worldwide. However, only about 200 million of them are active, meaning they are regularly maintained and updated. The majority of websites, around 82%, are inactive.

What is inactive? Only because the information is not retrieved, it does not lose relevance. At the moment, there is no focus.

Not everything needs to be updated and not everything can be updated. A biography, for example, ends with death.

The Google search index includes hundreds of billions of websites and is over 100,000,000 gigabytes.

Source: Word literally Google (google.com.)

However, the clearweb includes only 10% of the data on the Internet. So the Darknet (Darkweb, ka) has up to 900 billion.

If around 8 billion inhabitants are living in the world (including children, whose pensioners and people in developing countries), then EVERYONE would have created hundreds of web pages.

just think about it before you make such mistakes.

in the listing of google, each subpage is included so for example every single question on good question presents a website there, or every single reddit thread. so this number comes about.

No, the Darknet is only slightly bigger. The largest part is the Deepweb and this only in data and not in websites

That's why I wrote: Darknet (Darkweb, ka).' Something from both.

Yes, however, makes the data proportional and not the number of pages

So the Darknet (Darkweb, ka) has up to 900 billion.

Google knows the answer!

Today there are more than 1.8 billion websites – in long-term cut, about 60 million pages are also online every year. The most important feature of a website is its address that ends with a so-called top-level domain.05.08.2021
