How many inlays at once?
Hello,
I am supposed to get four inlays including an amalgam replacement.
Three in the upper jaw right (5, 6 and 7) and one in the lower jaw left (5)
I haven't been to the dentist in ages and four seems a bit much to me or is that completely possible now because of better/more tolerable LA or something?
Would be two appointments each (preparation and provision and then in the following appointment inserting inlay)
To be honest, I'm not keen on the idea of getting a relatively large amount of LA injected (side effects or incorrect injection).
Or should I just do two first?
Greetings to the crowd 🙂
unfortunately made the mistake and read through the package leaflet of Ubistesin. I mean, wrongly, I mean, that despite aspiration, it's still in the vein. I notice that the fear of the local anesthesia is quite diverting me. I didn't think so. Dentist said extra “will be very well stunned”.
Normally, it is common if there are several inlays in different quadrants in order to exclude any problems, to prepare inlays quadrantly. But in your case, it's completely OK to do all 4 inlays simultaneously. It's not the first one since the latest, but always.
What do you mean, LA? Management anesthesia? If so, you will only get them in the lower jaw and for the individual tooth there is also another possibility/technology – eg one intraligamentary anesthesia – to stun them.
I don't understand your concerns. Why wrong injection? Each ZA is able to perform anesthesia professionally. And the anesthetic – very often Lidocaine – is generally well tolerated and does not cause any problems.
If you have concerns, talk to your dentist about it.
That's your choice, of course. I wouldn't do it and there's no reason for it either.
Do you think that'll be better if you go to the treatment more often?
For me, this is rather a question of personality structure. I'm more like the guy who makes it all at once instead of running several times.
