How many bars in the tire?
I have a Bianchi racing bike.
I weigh 78 kg.
I have the WTB Riddler 700 x 37 C on it.
The manufacturer recommends air pressure: 2.4 to 3.8 bar, which seems low to me.
I'm quite heavy and the tire is quite narrow.
I have exactly 4 bar in there, is that too little?
Example:
For a 12-Kg wheel with 700 x 37 C tires and a driver weight of 78 kg, an online calculator comes to an air pressure of 3.71 bar.
So what does it say to keep the maximum 3.8 bar from the manufacturer?
For about 30 years I have been driving racing bike and MTB, my wheels are exposed to NIE to the specified maximum pressure.
In plain text – less than maximum.
For Riddler Light I found the indication. There are actually only 3.8 bar maximum allowed.
Randomly, I’ve just been lying around a couple of 37s, are Schwalbe Marathon, and of course the up to 5 bar. On this stack are also 40s from Vredestein, also up to 5 bar, and both are not particularly expensive tires. For me, these values are a quality indication!
37s were very widespread for a long time. Is the standard measure for Hollandräder. I didn’t have a manometer at the time, I’ve always pumped them up, the harder, the better. Today I’ve got 32 more on a bike that’s going to 6 bar, but I’m going with just 4.5. 4 So bar sounds reasonable for me, but I’d go down because 3.8 is on it. It’s not a road tire. Away from the road you drive with less pressure.
Thanks for the help. It is an Italian racing bike manufacturer that tires have recommended me the business because they are a bit wider and you can also get up well field roads and mountains when the roads are bad.We also explained that the tires have very good quality and can withstand the narrow tires almost exactly the same on a straight line. Then let this happen.
But if you don’t kick, I’m really excited about running the race bike.
Then it’s okay. The tire is not quite cheap at 37.50. That’s how much I spend about a good tire.
78 kg are neat, but if you look at questions that have to do with weight, you are spring-light! Make a few rounds with 3 bars. is not necessarily easy to find the optimal pressure. 4 bar, at least, you’re at your own risk.
37 mm are not racing wheels and up to 3.5 bar are completely normal! The pressure range is also always on the tires.
Of course, this is a racing wheel tire the narrowest racing wheel tire has 25 mm
Your WTB Riddler 700 x 37 C is for Sector “Gravel / Cyclocross / Bikepacking” recommended.
With 465 g it is twice as heavy as a racing wheel tire 25 mm, with 233 g.
There are also 23 wheel tires – I’m still hanging the old 18s in the cabin.
25 mm?

37 mm are for normal touring bikes… even if there’s a racing wheel link screwed on. =;
Thank you.
Good – stays at max. 3.8 bar.
If I were to make it so narrow, I would be at 7.53 kg
8 kg exactly with the heavier tyres
I don’t think it’s a “Rennrad”tyres“.
Please .. ^^^… “light” is not an indication of a carbon racing wheel.
Mine weighs 7.6 kg. How easy is yours?
The easier the wheel and driver, the less pressure the tires need.
I let go of gravel roads.
The racing bike is very light carbon
It’s about weight and air resistance, not friction. This will not increase even in wide tyres.
You just don’t seem to be aware that larger tires are NOT made for bigger pressures! 1. You should strengthen them. 2. it is also not necessary (to prevent placement)!
‘Eight’ Race tyres are very narrow, for small friction resistances, but then must be driven with higher pressures (8-12 bar) in order to prevent the application.
Conversely, MtBs have large tires, with small pressures, for better adhesion and damping.
Also a tire with 1.2 cm more wide rolls just as at correct air pressure
On my tire there are also 3.5-4 bar absolutely ok.
That’s all I’m gonna do.
Only on very rocky grounds I leave it to 3.5.
So I don’t get to feel every stone on my hands and on my ass.
I weighed 90Kg.
No, that’s too much.
Your tire must also be able to work something to optionally roll.
Here you can calculate the optimal pressure:

If the manufacturer recommends 2,4-3,8 is 4 too much. The recommendations do not make the manufacturer boredom.
With 78 kg, you’re “every bad”? The joke was good.
The 3.8 bar is 70 kg. I was recommended 4 bar in the shop where I bought it
What now? Above you write, the manufacturer recommend a maximum of 3.8 bar.
Very thin argumentation. The average weight of men in Germany is 85 kg. About 69 kg of women. In addition, it would not explain the Ubter limit of 2.4 bar.
On average, one person weighs 70 kg that corresponds to 3.8 bar
Use the air pressure computer here

So I’m investigating my air pressure with my wheels too
Where are you heavy and the tyres are narrow?
I had 92kg at the beginning of the season and drive 25mm VA and 28mm HA…
