The engine should probably be less the problem… that’s primarily how the previous owners are heated. I think that more the auxiliary units as well as the chassis by are.

I would first ask before the tour what was changed/repaired/repaired.

In principle, someone does not buy such a car to get consumption records… rather up. The whole Cooper/GTI/GSI group is usually more heated than its bourgeois brothers.

The R53 with compressor was still the “stable” but at 175,000km you can’t say whether it lifts again for so long or flies around your ears in 10,000km. Above all, after 175,000km, all other parts are “permeated” and should be exchanged. All a question of the care of the previous owner. I’d be with this vehicle. definitely too much running performance.
