How long do birds, such as blackbirds, build their nests?
How long does nest building usually take?
Here, the blackbirds are already starting to build their nests despite the night frosts. Do they really want to breed already? I know there are some very early breeders among birds, but I didn't think blackbirds would start breeding when there are regular night frosts.
Thanks for answers.
Amseln like to build nests, but that doesn’t mean they’re brooding in them. Some build a nest on only one day when they find enough suitable material. The next day they build a nest again and at some point they built enough nests and begin with the nest.
Ours are also building on our hillside in the bush. Like every year. They need a while, usually they start brooding in early April. Many birds are already fleissig.

It’s beautiful to watch.
Most of the young birds have already flew to the glacials.
Pigeons have already put eggs in the nest.
