How long can a thunderstorm hang in one place and why does it do so when it hangs?

It's been thundering here for over an hour now. I can't see any clear tendency for it to move away; sometimes further away, sometimes closer. Normally a thunderstorm comes quite straight and then moves on.

There's something about discharges and balance being restored.

By now, everything should be back in balance energetically. How much longer can it go on and what's going on?

I don’t know where you live, but I guess in North West Germany. The thunder cell currently active over this area has a very large diameter (over 300 km). There can be thunder activity for two or three hours.

In certain atmospheric layers, several thunderstorms also occur in a spatial neighborhood. If they all meet together and possibly get caffeine together, it can take a while.

storm clouds are very heavy and can remain in a valley boiler for a long time. If it died, it will be calmer!

You need to observe the weather conditions. What you see is just a little detail. It can go like that. This is what determine the air masses over Europe and not over your village đŸ™‚

that depends on the wind conditions and the situation and the extent of a bad weather front.in valleys or hills they often need longer until it is over
