How exactly does the control line work in an HIV test?
Hey guys,
About two weeks ago, I did a ratiopharm rapid test, which thankfully came back negative, and now I'm wondering what the control line means. To be more specific, how it's evaluated. I also have a small question: is it a problem that I didn't hold the test vertically after blood was in the tip (as the instructions say), but instead placed it on the table for about four minutes (although I don't think that makes any difference).
Thank you in advance!
The control strip must be positive, which indicates that the test itself is functional (and is not defective, for example, by superposition or moisture).
Read the instructions for use. It’s all described.
You should use the test according to instructions. It can be that he doesn’t show the right result if you don’t.
I hope you’ve kept the time interval from potential infection to the test.
In such tests, the control line is normally a comparative value. He should show how intense the test stalk can be, and according to which you should orient yourself.
But this should also be described in the instructions.
