How do you recognize bad beer?
Bad in the sense of spoiled or no longer drinkable. I drink a "special" beer from a brewery, and the smell and taste are very strange. I can't even describe it.
Almost floral and a hint of honey. Unpleasant and different.
Best before date is still a long way off.
It looks nice and clear and has a pleasant fizz. But the taste isn't that great!
Hello,
how spoiled beer tastes depends on the type of spoil. Most of the time, it’s hot, “old” or overgrown.
LG
And how does that taste?
Have a black beer that tastes even above average modest!
Not to be described either. Don’t be enjoyable. And I’m a friend of dark beer.
Do you like a question of feeling or experience?
Jop, exactly. Based on experience and comparisons. For me as a non-sensory, this is sometimes difficult to describe
If in the brewery the apprentice has something to do, the beer will be labeled “special” or “Limitated”.
The words of the Braumeister: No matter what you do wrong, beer we always somehow 😉
If that really should be the case, then I really find that a devastating anecdote! So not every beer tastes good, but that was really disgusting! But not in the sense of grief. Conclusion: Special is special. Get out!
I brewed beer myself a few times. Once I had a mistake in it and it tasted extremely like lemon (sour).
A few years later, a colleague with a special festival beer arrived in cans of a small brewery. What are you saying? The same taste! (now no more intentionally sour beer)
You just don’t like it. A spoiled beer would taste mouldy, disgusting bitter perhaps still. What you write sounds like a mead beer mix
That’s what I thought. Have already tried many beers, but the taste was already very special, especially for a German beer. but also “special” on it! I can still wonder
