More and more often (actually only) via a (proper) soundbar, to which everything is now connected: record player/CD/DVD/BR/TV/PC…

Amplifier and AVR, even a 5.1 system is available, but most of it is now in the attic..^^

Mostly via the TV. Either MP3 or MP4 from a USB stick or digital radio stations via cable.

Connect your tablet or mobile phone to a stereo amplifier (NAD C 370) via a Bluetooth adapter and listen through decent floorstanding speakers (B&W DM604 S3). The PC and TV (RCA) also run through these speakers.

The neighbors are sometimes not so enthusiastic.

Via cable, on the PC; Lab. I want to bother my neighbors with my music.

Should be like this: I don't want to bother my neighbors with my "music".

Via laptop, mobile phone or TV without extra speakers.

I listen either on the computer via YouTube or on the DVD player with a USB stick or CDs.

But it costs something, right?

Depends on the device. I have Bose Quiet Comfort 35 IIs. It's definitely different if you got them as a gift, but music is so important to me that it was totally worth the investment. (: I highly recommend them.
