A very beautiful holiday region that I connect with wonderful childhood memories. Every 2nd year we drove there with a VW-Käfer from Northern Germany and made holidays on the farm.

There are many hiking trails with interesting destinations, castles, ruins and natural beauty. Father always had many suggestions for day trips at the time and then we were allowed to co-determine children what is being done. In the evening, a story was read out of a book about the Dolomites, during the first trip. That must have been 1965/66 in summer.

Very good are also the bath amenities in the lakes in the summer, such as the Lake Caldaro, Great and Small Lake Montiggler. Also refreshingly cool during hikes are the ice holes https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eppaner_Eisl%C3%B6cher which are actually significantly cooler than the environment.

The earth pyramids are also worth wages https://www.ritten.com/de/1201-erdpyramides and as a child I liked the castle Runkelstein https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Runkelstein especially good.

To make a holiday it’s great. We’ve done three times. I’m here at home, though.

First, South – Tyrol belongs just like the South – Styria to Austria and second pretty there, but I don't want to live stuck between mountains. There is no beach, no access to the open sea.

This is an essential quality of life for me

South Tyrol is still occupied by Italy, such as Lorraine and Alsace of France, Eupen – Malmedy of Belgium, Nordschleswig of Denmark …

So it’s beautiful from nature, but I like big cities.

I like South Tyrol. Beautiful landscape,.good food, fine wines. The very low price map for public transport is a great offer. And I like the “Misch-masch” German – Italian.

South Tyrol is clearly part of Austria. Unfortunately, the Italians brutally annexed it at that time.

The highway is a bit too slow to see the damage Italy has caused in many places, because Italy has a very ruthless construction in terms of the environment and the landscape.

And how do you find that South Tyrol is in Italian.

Well, that’s an unobstructed mind. How do you change that? It is a perfect country to which South Tyrol belongs.
