How do you evaluate weather maps?
So, I have two weather maps here, along with the weather symbols, and I wanted to ask how to evaluate specific locations, how to explain the cyclones, and how to use the weather symbols for that. I don't really understand it.
Of course, you need to know the symbols, but you also need to have a certain amount of knowledge. This includes certain knowledge, for example, that the air orbits highs clockwise and lows counterclockwise, and that cold fronts move faster than warm fronts, so they eventually catch up with them and merge into an occlusion. There's also uncertain knowledge or empirical evidence, such as that highs and lows in our westerly wind zone usually move eastward, but you can't rely on that.
Then there's the question of what the question actually is: what the weather is like right now, or how it will develop. In the bottom image, it's uncomfortable in Germany, making it advisable to stay indoors, but the -11 degrees Celsius in Warsaw raises fears of bad weather in the coming days, but that depends on the direction of the low pressure system.
