I guess you still have to start with normal physics in the Bachelor. You can then presumably specialize in theoretical physics in the master (formerly in the main study).

However, the PhysicsStudium is basically very mathelastic. In the first semesters, the lectures etc. are identical, which is why they also had a common subject and e.g. party in Hanover. The proportion and difficulty of mathematics in theoretical physics is also particularly high. Supposedly, Einstein regretted not to have had enough math at the university, because he has often come to his limits in calculations and had to be helped by colleagues.

This is a very ‘academic’ branch…imein…What companies employ theoretical physicists? You should stay at the university, in research, so also be very good…Dr., then PostDoc, then habilitation, probably only private lecture, then professorship, ….

You study a Bachelor in Physics.

You’re studying a master in physics.

With appropriate grades, you get a doctorate in theoretical physics.

About some stations as employees or Lecturer at various institutes can be habilitated and eventually get a job as a private lecturer or a professorship.

Studying physics is the basis.
