How do I turn off automatic changes in Word online?

I'm trying to write a short story online using Word, but the web version of Word keeps automatically changing my text. I just spent 15 minutes trying to type the sentence "What is that?", but every time the program removes quotation marks, puts a question mark in the middle of the word, deletes words, or makes up new ones (dadas). What do I need to turn off? I've turned off grammar and spelling corrections, autocorrect is also completely turned off, I've hidden editor suggestions, and tracked changes is also turned off. What should I look for?

To disable automatic changes in Word online, you should also check automatic formatting in addition to the features you have already switched off. Sometimes automatic formatting can cause unwanted changes to the text. You can check this by searching for options such as "automatic formatting" or "SmartTags" in the settings and ensuring that they are disabled. If these options are already switched off, it might be helpful to write the text in another text processing program and then copy it online in Word to avoid unwanted automatic changes.
