How do I name this alkane chain?
It would be cool for learning chemistry if someone could tell me what the chain is called and why it is called that.

4-ethyl-2,2-dimethylhexane, right?
The longest chain has 6 carbon atoms, so it is hexane.
Two (ie di-)methyl radicals hang on the second carbon atom, and on the fourth an ethyl radical.
It's been a bit. If I'm wrong, please correct.
Mmh, I think you're right, spontaneously I went from a trimethylpentane compound, but what you wrote sounds plausible
