How do I move my data from one hard drive to another?

I currently have a 1 TB HDD hard drive from Toshiba in my PC on which all games, data, etc. run & I have now bought a 2 TB SSD SATA III from Samsung.

How do I move all data from the HDD to the SSD so that the computer runs without errors, without missing files, as if nothing had happened?

This can be done with the Data Migration Software do.

Install the software, clone the hard drive to the SSD and turn off the computer when it is finished with cloning. Put the cables from the HDD to the SSD, then let the HDD jammed and boot the PC from the SSD, otherwise it may start again from the disk.

The HDD can be placed in the cabinet as a backup or jammed again.

This should be done with the software, some of which are hidden on the plate or system files that cannot be easily copied.

Then just make sure to select the right source.

There are some tools or tools. Programs that can.

The problem is that no operating system can run from the plate to be cloned. This would otherwise make unexpected changes and cause damage to the file system.

So you actually need a second computer to which you can connect both plates (e.g. via USB adapter).

However, you can also boot the computer from a USB stick or a DVD so that the disks remain unused. For example, Knoppix is suitable.

Here is an article of various tools:

Clonzilla is like Knoppix a Linux system that starts from DVD or Stick, it has been made exactly for your case.

Connect the second plate either to a free SATA port in the PC or to connect it externally with a USB adapter.

But be very careful, not that you copy the new, empty plate to the old, full plate and then have two empty!

If only pure data are then simply copying over.

Otherwise, you need to create an image of the partition with a software and image on the new disk.
