How do I include the old pound sign (weight) in answers here?
Good morning everyone,
Although I have now found the symbol for the old pound sign (weight) (see my question) and can also insert it as a symbol into a Word document, when I try to insert it, for example, into gutefrage or a WhatsApp, the pound sign (currency £) always appears. Therefore, I would like to know today how I can insert the old pound sign (weight)
can also be included in the running text (not as an image) on gutefrage.
I am curious and look forward to your answers.

Hello,
it should be difficult to include the sign here. The (weight) character coded in Unicode L B Bar symbol (℔) corresponds to the character you are looking for and has there the number value 2114, the (currency) character £ is by the way 00A3; the character is thus coded differently.
The font I use in Word and in which the old pound mark you use is present, by the way, shows another sign, namely the Ò (Latin Capital O with Grave; Unicode value: 00D2).
Greeting, BerchGerch
Thank you for your answer, dear Berch Gerch. On my own computer, I can write the pound mark in Word.
Font: MarVoSym – Subset: Latin-1 (additional) – Unicodename: Pound Sign – Code: 00A3 by: Unicode (hex) – Key combination: Alt+0163
I have been able to download and install this on my first question. Don’t ask me how I did that. Everywhere else it is displayed as a currency symbol.
Thank you for the star!
You’re welcome. ☺️
The old pound mark would have to be found in the font “Leipziger Fraktur”

Thank you for your answer. I already have a font that contains the pound mark (weight) downloaded and installed. On the PC in a word text I can also write the character. In other “applications”, for example in gf responses or in whatsapp messages, the character is automatically replaced by the currency mark £.
That’s what you mean, right? ℔
Thank you for your request. No, I don’t mean the sign. Since one cannot insert a picture in comments, I have my question about a corresponding picture. Here again a link to a corresponding image https://www.macuser.de/threads/pfund-zeichen-weight-libra-zeichen.884113/
search for the unicode mark
The Unicode sign is ℔as was written here. Technically speaking it means L B Bar symbol and is as U-2114 encoded.
It’s all possible to get out with me, but not the old, swinging pound mark. 🥹
Yes, this is not the case in this “swinged” variant in the unicode character set (satisfied).
