How do I get from the LG Smart TV to my old amplifier?

Hey. So, I have the LG 50nano766qa here. I got a converter, and now I'm connecting the optical cable from the TV to the converter, and then the RCA cable from the converter to the stereo. Nothing's happening. I've already set it to optical on the TV and tried everything else. What have I missed?

Thanks and greetings

On the page you posted there is a power supply with 5 volts, but 1 A – so 5 watts
USB does deliver 5 volts, but only 500 mA, or 2.5 watts, and I don't think the TV has USB 3.x, which delivers 5 volts but 900 mA, or 4.5 watts.

Could be the source of the error.

Maybe the input setting on the amplifier?!

or maybe connected to an output?!

That could be a possibility. I don't know if the USB output voltage is sufficient.
