How do I fix this problem in Word?
Hello!
I am currently writing my bachelor's thesis and for orientation I always have to use heading 1 of the main thesis in the header and my name has to be to the right of it.
Now I have the problem that one of my headings is so long that it covers the entire header, and my name slides down one line. That doesn't look clean.
I then tried to place my name to the left of the written heading in the header. I did this using page breaks so I could change the header without affecting the other pages.
However, this also means that my page numbers, which I obviously need, are lost.
Yes,
I'm really at my wits' end. Unfortunately, there's nothing specific about this on YouTube.
Can anyone help me?
My first idea would be to insert a 2 column table into the header. In the right you write your name and in due left the heading.
If the headline is longer, the line break should pass within the column and no longer jump over your name.
Alternatively, you should try to get the headline shorter. The title will probably otherwise cause problems in the table of contents.
But I have a question:
Is the formatting a default you have to comply with?
The font size affects me quite large or the side layout very narrow.
In addition, some fonts may save space.
I don’t know if it works in Word. In LibreOffice, you can insert a 2 column table into the header or footer and write the corresponding field commands into the cells of the table.
