How do I find a horse share?

Hello, I have been looking for a horse share for a while.

My riding instructor doesn't know anyone who gives one out and I can't find anyone on the internet either.

In my town, there are two or three large competition stables where many people keep their horses. However, I don't ride at these stables, so I don't know them. I can't just walk into the stable and ask anyone if they have a riding share available, can I?

In my town, there are also farms where I always see horses/ponies in the pasture. I could imagine sharing a horse at some of them. However, the farms don't have riding arenas, etc., and I can't just ring the doorbell and ask if they offer a horse share, can I?

What do you all mean?

You can call at the big stalls, introduce yourself briefly and ask nicely if it’s okay if you prepare a curtain and catch it on the black board.

Often you get in touch with the stable owner. Evtl also knows about the one or the other adjuster who might be looking for an RB and can convey you further. If he gives his OK then, as I said, prepare a meaningful outhang and place it in the stable.

Otherwise, you can also turn a search display in classifieds or various Facebook groups and of course keep the offers in mind.

Especially: with a lot of patience!

I’ve done everything. And partly with success.
However, I would never have asked for “residual participation” directly, but simply asked to take care of sPony, and if necessary was also satisfied with cleaning. Öfter gave it a riding opportunity.

Where there is no riding place, you can ride on the grounds. Or can you do too little? Then you need more lessons on a school horse anyway.

At the Tunierställen you can ask if you can hang a note to the black board.
If you stay anywhere where horses are and make yourself useful, as good as it is, you get in touch with the right people.

Another possibility is an advertisement in the local weekly leaflet.

You can hang a note on the black board every riding stable that you are looking for a riding share with phone/mobile/fixed net. With the peasants you put the note in the mailbox

Asking on site is actually helpful. There are still Corona restrictions on the presence of people in stables, but soon a lot will be loosened when the infection goes on, it will be warmer and therefore people are more out, the windows are more open.

Let yourself be seen, entertained with people etc. gives an impression. Sometime you meet someone who knows someone who knows someone and otherwise there’s at least one face to the barn in the stable. It just makes a difference when people tell each other before the curtain, “Oh, I was talking to the other day when they brought the curtain.” With us in the stables, several curtains hang side by side and usually the ones that you already know are addressed somewhere.

You could contact the owner of the courtesy. Usually each (larger) stable has a black board, maybe you can make a hangout.

Did you look at ebay? Rarely there’s something in ehorses.

I don’t see a problem asking.

Otherwise, there are pin walls in supermarkets where you could pick up a note with “Search riding share”.
