I have a room right outside where the internet is bad. We got an internet amplifier for the Fritz Box and connected it to the router, but the amplifier is not displayed on the wifi. Do I have to connect to the amplifier or does the router have a longer range?

An amplifier does not necessarily generate its own W-Lan network. If this is not so simple, you simply connect to the normal network as before.
You mean a repeater. This replicates the input signal. You can easily connect to the router’s known SSID (network name). Routers and repeaters themselves control which device you are connected to.
