I always answer:
"No idea"
"I don't know"
"Come on"
Unfortunately does not work in all cases, but in many 🙂

You can hardly avoid the questions if you don't want to avoid all people.
But you can answer how you want to react if someone asks what you don't want to answer.
There are a number of usual "soft maneuvers" which are also recognized and respected by most socially educated people.
Ask questions.
Why do you care?
What do you want to know exactly?
