How can you avoid insects at a picnic 🧺?

Hello,

I'm going on a picnic soon and I wanted to ask if you have any tips on how to avoid bees, wasps or insects in general or how to redirect them somewhere else.

I know I should choose a spot away from water, with some wind, and cover the food most of the time. But do things like lemon peels really help?
