How can I use Pi Hole outside of WiFi?
Hey people,
I have a Raspberry Pi 4 running Pi Hole, and it works perfectly within Wi-Fi. However, I'd like to use it outside of Wi-Fi as well, meaning with mobile data. And I'd also like to access the associated dashboard from outside. Since I haven't really found anything, I'd appreciate any help. If it matters, I have a Fritz!Box.
Ps. I'm still quite new to the topic of Raspberry and Co.
Simple:
Install the Wireguard client on the mobile device.
Then activate the WireGuard VPN in the FritzBox and log the Wireguard app on the router.
Activate the Wireguard VPN connection on your smartphone: Done.
At the Raspi, no need to change.
If you want to increase the performance, then connect the Raspi via LAN cable.
If you want to, a VPN would be the right solution for you.
If you have a reasonably up-to-date Fritzbox, you can connect to it via VPN, otherwise you can install the VPN server on your Raspberry Pi and release the required ports on the Fritzbox.
If you don’t want to go to the VPN, you’ll have a good solution, for example, Wireguard.
You could set up a VPN server at home (on the Pi or via the FritzBox if yours support it) and connect you via it.
