How can I prevent dirt under my fingernails?

I've stopped biting my nails and I'm actually really happy with how good my fingernails look now. However, after just a short time (after a day at most), dirt starts to accumulate under them, so I have to clean them every day, sometimes several times a day.

Does anyone have any tips on how I can prevent this?

This is perfectly normal, even if you don't do a lot of dirty work.

Scrub thoroughly with a nail brush every day (!) and don't forget to apply cream afterwards.

Otherwise, clean under the nails with a nail scraper or the tip of a nail file.

So it also depends on what you do, for example if you are in the garden a lot then dirt accumulates there or when you cook but you can simply shorten your nails a bit and wash and clean your hands often

Avoid contact with dirt. For example, by wearing gloves when doing dirty work. However, lint or dust will always remain under your fingernails. The only way to prevent this is to brush your nails (or wash your hair).

You can also cut them with nail scissors, you don't have to resort to your teeth anymore

You can't prevent it, but if you wash your hands and fingernails several times a day, you won't have any dirt under your nails.

then just cut your fingernails or scrape the dirt away
