How can I make Origin games playable offline?
Hello,
I saw a video on YouTube years ago that showed this, but I can't find it anymore.
I'd like to be able to play my Origin games offline. There's apparently a guide here that asks how to add a rule to the firewall (among other things).
Please don't post instructions that require you to upload and then download something again. I don't want to decouple the games from EA, but there's a trick you can use to outsmart the EA client.

I found the instructions again.
In Windows, you have to select the “Advanced Settings” in the firewall settings and create a new outgoing rule there. (for a program)
Then you select the program “Origin.exe” and leave all three hooks set so that everything is completely locked.
Then you start the Origin Client first. then it hangs about half a minute. In the then opening login screen, you enter your login files and log in.
Then the Origin Client starts offline and the games can be played without internet.
I simply think a gaming platform should give you this opportunity to play games even without internet connection.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that I look less at the EA Store!
You just need to connect online and then select “Origin > Offline” in the menu. If you don’t go online again, you’ll stay offline with further program starts.
But consider:
Offline you can’t use any features of Origin, do not achieve any success, do not sync game levels online, do not use online features in games, etc.
but it doesn’t use anything that suddenly stands without connection…

You don’t need a trick. If an origin game has no internet connection, it also goes offline. Of course, this is only going to play the one single player game mode.
