How can I make it easier to memorize material?
I have been trying out the questions and answers from revision exercises in chemistry for days now when I have to learn and then recite them, similar to an exam or other class work etc.
No matter how many times I've reviewed my flashcards, this material is pretty stubborn and doesn't want to stick in my long-term memory, even though I've put a timer on my learning and, of course, take breaks.
Don't get me wrong. I don't memorize the entire material because I'm interested in it, but because I can't afford to constantly look up the relevant information during an exam.
A student is expected to have a certain amount of knowledge.
I just have to deal with it, regardless of whether I enjoy it or not. After all, I can't just do what I want in life.
In chemistry, in my opinion, this is somewhat different from other subjects.
You need to learn basics, so elements and fabrics, along with their properties. They can’t be “derived”, according to which many questions here.
Basic facts about reactions also have to be easily learned, so what is transmitted in an acid-base reaction, how pH and pKs are defined etc.
And it is also possible to learn special properties in this respect, so that ammonia is a base, it is not easy to derive.
Aaaaaber, to apply the known reactions to known substances, since one should think carefully, step by step, to apply the learned. If you try to memorize all the examples, you should be overwhelmed.
Capture and understand…
Everyone can learn by heart, do not understand
That’s true, but I just want to learn it by heart.
