How can I free up storage space?
Hi guys, below is a picture of my hard drive. I desperately need more space on the C: drive to play games; otherwise, I can't get into the game because there's no more space to write to the drive. I really only have the bare essentials on the hard drive—no apps or anything. I've already deleted everything the internet and ChatGPT suggested, but I can't get any further. Please help.
Is it possible that the games are writing to the D: hard drive?
They are both SSDs.
Please only serious advice. Don't come at me with "delete System 32."
Is there a program on your PC to manage games like steam or original?
You can also simply compress the drive in the drive properties. This provides additional free space.
Really, even the 931 GB plate is a SSD? Then why aren’t Windows and programs installed there?
I would buy a large SSD and clone the contents of the small SSD on it with a clone program. I’ve been doing this for years with the Acronis True Image. The program is now different and it also costs money. But after a short time you have your complete system on a large SSD and then have enough space for years.
there is no way to get the games on the D hard drive too to write on the D hard drive and not on the C hard drive where they are not installed at all?
No. The hard drive is too small. Even in the private area with a bit of office, surfing and editing images on this tiny 110 GB the hard drive is always full, I had last in the acquaintance right in front of me. A bit of Word and Excel and Outlook, a few albums music for jogging and the 120 GB disk was always full! Hardly did I buy them a 1 TB SSD and cloned the complete system from the 120 GB plate to the 1 TB plate, everything was fine again and the computer is broken rather than that the plate is full!
So do something good and get a big SSD.
System 32 will certainly bring something, nothing good.
If possible, I would rather put on a hard drive. Z.b a 2TB NVME or SSD. (Or more)
The fact that the games also write on the C record is unfortunately due to Steam. At least this is my experience. Updates are also partly written to the C plate but at the end copied to my D hard drive. I don’t know how to change it. Extend maximum with hard disk, which doesn’t make any sense when Windoof is on it.
Best buy a 1 TB memory card in store for your Pc that you build into your PC transfer the Dpcier to the new one then you have about 900 GB left. Costs about 60 euros such a memory card. But recommended.
You can simply install the game on other hard drive. You will be able to select the path where the game is to be installed in the setup area
the games are on the D hard drive but still on the C hard drive
