(How) Can I change my economy class flight to business class?
Hey everyone,
I'll be flying from Munich to Tokyo in economy class with Lufthansa on August 23rd. Since the flight takes almost twelve hours and I'd like a bit more comfort during that time, I've now wondered whether it might have been better to book business class.
Now I'm wondering whether an upgrade to business class is (still) possible (assuming, of course, that business class isn't fully booked on my flight), where I should go to get it, and approximately how much it would cost. I've already booked my flight in May, if that matters.
Maybe someone of you has already done something like this and can help me a little 😊

simply log in to the Lufthansa website and access your flight data. An upgrade is often offered there. Otherwise call the hotline, they can help. Generally, it should not be a problem to buy an upgrade now.
Upgrad on business class could be quite expensive, upgrad on premium economy is often already getting from 150-200 euros. And on a long flight on all the faelles, give you a little more comfort and leg freedom.

I’d do it by phone. My son booked for the spring from London to Tokyo in Business. In First the return flight costs approx. 500 € more, which is expected in such a long flight because you can really sleep well. That was offered to him on the phone.
Hey Business Class is really expensive – I managed to sit in the Premium Economy Class on my flight towards Indonesia.
That cost me 80€ more than the economy normal – for this more leg freedom – of course not the most comfortable of the world but so the 13 hours much more pleasant than in the EC

Upgrades from all booking classes are possible, except for the favorable K,L and T classes in Economy Class.
