Hotspot-Aktivierung klickt nicht auf?

Hallo,

The problem that the confirmation window is not displayed in open T-Mobile WLAN hotspots can be frustrating. This window, also known as “Captive Portal”, is required to connect to the internet. Here are some steps and tips to fix the problem and make sure that the window appears:

1. Manual opening of the Captive Portal

  • Open browser: Open the web browser on your smartphone and try to load any website, e.g.
  • or
  • www.example.com
  • . The Captive Portal should appear automatically when you try to load a page that is not stored in the cache.
  • Manual entry: In some cases, the Captive Portal can be called via a special URL. Try to enter the following address in your browser:
  • or
  • http://captive.apple.com
  • . This can trigger the Captive Portal.

Two. Check network connection

  • WLAN settings: Make sure your device is correctly connected to the hotspot. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and check if you are connected to the T-Mobile Hotspot.
  • Reset network: Try to reset the WLAN network. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and “forget” the network, and then connect again.

3. Delete cache and cookies

  • Browser cache empty: Sometimes a full cache can prevent the captive portal being loaded correctly. Empty the cache of your browser by going to the Settings Go to your browser and select “Delete cache” or “Delete data”.

4. Reset network settings

  • Reset network: If the problem continues, you can reset the network settings on your Android device. Go to Settings > System > Advanced options > Reset > Wireless, Mobile Networks & Bluetooth Reset.

Five. Alternative access

  • Use another device: Test whether you can connect to the hotspot with another device (e.g. tablet or laptop). If the other device loads the Captive Portal easily, the problem may be with your smartphone.
  • WLAN repeater: If you often have problems with hotspots, a mobile WLAN repeater that boosts the signal and provides a more stable connection could be helpful.

6. Check Hotspot availability

  • Availability of the hotspot: Check if the hotspot is available nearby and works properly. Sometimes it can also be related to problems with the hotspot itself, in particular with a high utilization or technical problems on the part of the provider.

7. Contact to the Hotspot provider

  • Hotspot support: If you regularly have problems with the T-Mobile hotspot, it can be helpful to contact the customer service of T-Mobile. They may give you specific instructions or help you with technical problems with their hotspot network.

Summary

If the Captive Portal window does not appear, try to manually load the website or enter a special URL. Check the connection and network settings and empty the cache of your browser if necessary. If the problem continues, test another hotspot or contact the support of T-Mobile.
