Horse movie with black stallion?

I'm looking for a horse film. The unfair plot, I think, was something like this: a male buyer bought a horse that suffered trauma from a fire in the stable. He tries to regain his trust in the horse and one day, when it grows old, releases it back into the wild. Thanks for your feedback.
