Are you with minors? Then I would rather go to Myeongdong (Is also super connected with everything and is best for people who are here for the first time! :)))
Hongdae is really great through the day, but from 8 p.m. it turns into the biggest party district of Seoul. It’s not necessarily dangerous, but I personally don’t feel so comfortable anymore.
