Home defense weapon hype – how much self-defense is allowed at home?

More and more T4E weapons are being offered under the "Home Defense" mode;

But how much "home defense" is actually allowed from the perspective of equipment and ammunition approval – and this especially in the "home" area.

Pepper balls, for example, are only permitted for animal defense.

And the air pistols in the "T4E" version are basically approved for paintball sports purposes with protective clothing and, of course, for animal defense.

But an explicit approval for use as a "home defense weapon", if, for example, a typical XY-unsolved burglar duo comes through a door panel at night,

the so-called Home Defense T4E weapons are not allowed at all.

Not to mention the fact that you don't really know where your own "home" begins or ends. If you do, are you allowed to pepper-ball the burglars only after they've crossed the threshold… or not?

What do you think about this?

Not as “Home-Defense”, no.

You can only shoot criminals in the field of emergency, no matter where you have the gun or if you own it legally.

So besides you are a police officer or soldier in service, unfortunately, only slightly softened laws apply.

Why are these weapons advertised as “Home-Defense” when the advertised use is not allowed at all?

Because the people who want to sell the stuff to a target group who wants to ” defend them at home”.

So if criminals forcibly get access to an apartment – through door, for example – they cannot be attacked yet?

Maybe, yes. If it is necessary to prevent the present illegal attack.

Not sure what “shocking” is meant here

If you know what you’re doing, it’s also understandable that you can’t harm attackers more than you need to stop their attack. This usually also results from itself.

If a burglar cracks your doorstep, because he thinks the house is empty, for example, it will disappear quite quickly without your doing if he realizes that someone is in the house.

If someone threatens you with a weapon, you might even kill someone if it were necessary (so it would not obviously be a different solution to stop the attack).

No, there is an extra paragraph “Overcence of the Emergency Arms” which says that you remain free of punishment if you cross the limits of the Emergency Arms in the affect.

If it is necessary to prevent the attack, you may. However, it is necessary here to have a legal term, as it is designed to be researched. In addition, an attack must be present or be immediate.

“Home-Defense-Waffen” with a maximum of 7.5 Joule are a joke. That’s pre-scored security, no more. That’s enough to shoot cans in the basement.

It is possible to use everything in an emergency situation, if necessary. See ยง 32 StGB.

The most effective thing is when you throw the gun on his head.
