Will braces help with a crooked jaw due to a crossbite at 16?

Hello, I noticed a few months ago that one side of my jaw is larger than the other. My lower incisors also miss the upper ones by a few millimeters (3-5mm, I estimate).

I'll make an appointment with the orthodontist as soon as possible tomorrow, but I wanted to ask if braces would still be worth it at 16 to make my jaw look symmetrical again. This whole thing is really bothering me, and a little information in advance would be really helpful.

Hello swfififi,

with you the main growth is through, bone growth can no longer be influenced large. But you can do a lot in older patients, also adults.

Of course, this is worth noting and no hectic, now it is no longer up to three months.

Good luck!

You can adjust it when you tilt your teeth. If it’s too strong, there’s only one surgery.
