Hide a cut on your face?
Hello!
I urgently need advice on how to hide a razor cut on my face! I'm female, but I often have a few hairs above my upper lip, so I tend to use a razor instead, as my tweezers are too blunt, and I've cut myself.
Please don't say things like bandages or anything else noticeable. Would concealer work? The main thing is that it's not that noticeable, regardless of whether it's good for the skin.
Yes, you can cover the cut with concealer, but there are a few tricks to make it look as inconspicuous as possible:
1. Treat the wound properly
Clean the area with water and a mild disinfectant solution.
Apply a thin layer of healing ointment (e.g. Bepanthen) to prevent the skin from drying out.
Leave it on for a few minutes before applying makeup.
2. Apply concealer correctly
Primer or light powder as a base to help the concealer stay on better.
Liquid concealer is better than a dry stick because it does not settle in the wound.
Gently dab the wound with your fingers or a small brush, do not rub.
Lightly powder it so it stays put and doesn't shine.
3rd alternative: color correcting trick
If the wound is still reddish, you can use a green color corrector beforehand – this will neutralize the redness and make the concealer even less noticeable.
If you don't want to cover it with makeup at all, it also helps to draw attention to other areas, such as more striking eye makeup or lip balm with a slight shimmer.

First of all, thank you for this detailed answer! Is there an alternative to the green color correction pen? 🥲
Yes, there are other alternatives to cover a reddish cut without using the green color correction pen:
1. Yellow or pitch shades
Sometimes yellow or peach-colored concealer sticks, specifically designed to balance redness, can help. They neutralize redness well and don't leave any noticeable tones when you apply concealer over it.
These are well suited for medium to light skin tones.
2. Light blush or rose-colored concealer
A slightly pink concealer can also be an alternative. These are especially helpful when the redness is recent and not intense.
3. BB cream or tinted moisturizer
If you don't want to apply concealer too thickly, you can also use a BB cream, which provides light coverage and also moisturizes. It's gentler on the skin than a thick concealer and will help conceal minor blemishes.
It's important not to apply too much product to avoid further irritating the wound. Especially on fresh cuts, you should be as gentle as possible with makeup so they can heal quickly.

If the red from the wound shines through the concealer and becomes noticeable, there are some additional tips you can try:
1. Cover again with a thin layer of concealer
You can reapply a thinner layer of concealer, but pat very gently and don't rub. A light dabbing effect helps the concealer apply more evenly and discreetly without letting the red show through.
2. Use gentle powder
After the concealer has dried, you can dust it with a loose, translucent powder. This helps set the makeup and prevents the concealer from settling into the edges of the wound, making the red even more visible. Be sure to apply the powder gently to avoid creating additional friction.
3. Light lifting technique when applying
Instead of just dabbing the concealer onto the wound, try using a sponge or brush to gently blend the concealer over the edges of the wound to make it look less flaky. Be careful not to use too much product at the edge of the wound to create a smooth transition.
4. A little fixing spray for long-lasting effect
If the concealer still looks a bit too noticeable despite the powder layer, you can use a setting spray to set and fix the makeup. This will help it stay in place longer and blend better with your skin.
5. Cover with light foundation
If concealer alone doesn't help enough, you can also apply a light foundation over the area. This offers more coverage and can hide the red a little better. Make sure it's blended well so it's not visible on the skin.
6. Makeup tricks for distraction
If it still doesn't look perfect, you can try to divert attention from the wound by wearing eye-enhancing makeup (e.g., eyeliner or mascara) or choosing a light lip color. This will draw attention away from the affected area.
Tips for healing
Remember that the skin near the wound is more sensitive. If possible, try to moisturize the wound occasionally to promote healing. Healing ointments like Bepanthen or Cicalfate can work wonders to soothe the skin and promote healing.

Is there anything I can do if the red from the wound peeks through the concealer? 😰 Unfortunately, I don't have anything to even out the color, and the red is very obvious + it looks weird with the concealer.
