never seen the way to install so linux.

Normally linux is packed on a bootstick, then at restart via f12 the bootstick is selected and then the linux setup should start. if it does not start the bootstick has not been properly created.

everything else is good.

Ne, he just told you an uncomplicated tip/way that works much more appealing and safer than the “Youtube Tutorial”. What you’re trying to do is absolutely stupid, you’ll never install Linux like that, but you’ll get mistakes for mistakes (like now)

When starting the notebook, try to tap the F12 button (tip, tip, tip, …) and see if the stick appears in the boot menu at all.

Should the BIOS boot menu appear and look like this:

or

if the USB stick does not appear there, it may not be bootable. What instructions was used?

And, does the stick appear in the list of boot options?

But if it’s older the Lappi, then Mint’s not running very fast.

Maybe the problem with Etcher can be solved. What an error was it? Let’s see a screenshot.

Check Advanced to see if there’s something from CSM or UEFI. Again with the arrow keys.

If you want to install Linux, you should not go to the Windows bootmenu, but to the device… Press “F12” (multiple consecutive) during the start.

I don’t know what’s shown in any videos. If I see anything from Windows on a Linux installation, I’m wrong.

I have a bootable Linux USB stick, have selected in the BIOS that I have first wants to boot and hope to get nothing from Windows.

What device is this about? As a rule, you should be able to choose this in the boot menu of the BIOS, not in the Windows menu.
