Help with the cross trainer?
Good evening! I bought a cross trainer for myself three weeks ago, and now I suddenly can't feel the resistance anymore. I have the Sportsline cross trainer x11.9. I opened it up, but I don't know anything about it. Yesterday it was still working, and I could feel the resistance increasing in my thighs, but today there's nothing. I would appreciate any help.
Most trainers have a part in the vicinity of the flywheel where strong permanent magnets are located.
This part is then moved mechanically to this large flywheel or away via an adjusting motor.
However, there are also pure electromagnetic systems that work via a coil.
The more current then flows through, the stronger the flywheel is then braked.
The pedal resistance (watt) is generated by an electronically generated magnetic field (field coil principle).
These systems are used on stepper as well as on home trainers (bicycles).
