Help, pension?

Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I'm writing to you because I'm looking for advice.

I'm retiring this year and I'm already 66 years old. I worked for several years both in Poland and here in Germany. I've applied to the DRV for a German and a Polish pension. And now I'm not sure how that will work. I've been told to also apply for a Polish pension through the German pension insurance. What will that look like? Will I get one pension or two separate pensions? Thank you in advance for your reply.

You did absolutely the right thing. Since there's a social security agreement, you can apply for a pension from Germany and Poland simultaneously. The DRV will then contact the Polish pension insurance provider.

You will then receive both pensions together.

Innerhalb der EU werden Rentenversicherungsansprüche gegenseitig anerkannt. Per Saldo ist es also egal, ob du jetzt eine oder zwei Renten bekommst
