Helmet for moped?
Hello everyone,
I'm currently looking for a helmet for my moped, but I haven't found one that I really like the look of. So I'm asking for your opinions, experiences, or tips.
In Switzerland you are allowed to ride with both a motorcycle helmet (at least ECE 22.05) and a bicycle helmet (SN EN 1078).
I definitely won't be wearing a full-face helmet or a motocross helmet on my moped. I really like the look of open-face helmets, but unfortunately, many of them look like a melon on my head. Typical bicycle helmets aren't very stylish on a moped, in my opinion.
At the same time, I have to say that I find a motorcycle helmet a bit over-equipped at the speeds typical of mopeds. For me, bicycle helmets are extremely comfortable to wear: well-ventilated, lightweight, with a dial for adjusting the helmet, etc.
Do you know of a cross between a motorcycle helmet and a bicycle helmet? A bicycle helmet that would still look good on a moped? An open face helmet that doesn't add bulk and make you look like a mushroom head? Could a POC skater helmet fit on a moped? Any other suggestions?
However, a corresponding test number is important to me and I don't want to ride around with a helmet without one.
Thank you in advance for your tips, experiences, opinions and suggestions!
I look forward to your answers!
Greetings
For the Mofa is a more comfortable, something more than a motorcycle helmet.
Bike helmet is bullshit.Does not meet the requirements for motorized vehicles.
Unfortunately, even a face helmet is bullshit. Is there a tiny fly before, just flew on the bike to the brain? Do you know this sour, burning pain that makes you blind and completely incapable for seconds?
Then remember that a hornet or even a singing bird can add you very serious injuries to the head or eye.
Jo, cooler look, that can be.
But a helmet must protect, not only from falls, but above all from insects, which the legislator apparently did not calculate, otherwise there would be no face helmets.

My jet helmet has a visier and a sun visor.
In the combination adequate protection for the eye through insect flight.
Good evening,
Thank you for your answer.
I allow you to correct: In Switzerland it is legally allowed to run a mofa with a motorcycle helmet as well as a bicycle helmet. Whether the safety is smart is the other question…
I would say that a bicycle helmet that is suitable for e-bikes is also well usable for Mofas speed technology. Of course, bicycle helmets and jet helmets offer much less protection than a full-integral helmet, no contradiction. Before all mosquitoes and differently are very annoying in the face, mouth and eyes.
But if I’m honest, it doesn’t bother me, at all, at Max 35kmh with a full-integral helmet to tumble against. Especially in summer during the heat. Of course, the bicycle helmet is clearly advantageous.
In addition, if a mosquito lands on the face, it is quite easy to stop like on a bike with the mofa, as you usually move on bicycle paths and not necessarily on the 80s road.
The same potential injuries caused by hornets or birds could also happen on the e-bike.
But apart from the safety aspect: Do you know jet helmets that look chic and do not apply too thick? Or could they imagine a chic Fahhard helmet on a mofa?
I hope the message doesn’t come over too harshly, I don’t want to attack you or the like.
Kind regards
All right. In Switzerland the Töffli, the Velosolex with bicycle helmet.Ok.I am not a friend of open helmets,or semi-visier.I said yes, although during cycling I had nasty crawling mosquitoes.Even if you can still stop, this is no argument. The visor can be lifted up something,so the sufficient air circulates.
Gruezi.
Please, if a bicycle helmet is allowed, take this. For winter you can buy a used integral helmet. You will remember my tip in rain, snow or snow.) There are very flippy helmets .And, by the way,who drives Töffli, usually also moves spoons later. Also, even if you rarely use the helmet, you don’t have any money thrown out.
Thank you for your answer.
Of course, I look at the fact that it looks chic and at the same time is the most convenient (in this case probably a bicycle helmet for me).
Security is also important to me and I will certainly not buy a 0815 certificate. I just think a real motorcycle helmet is a little over-equiped for a mofa.
Thank you again for your inputs! Every meaningful experience is worth sharing! Thank you!
Kind regards
So I’m driving with a face helmet with a lens, for years even 125 roller
Is more comfortable and safer than a bicycle helmet(in Germany bicycle helmets on motor vehicles are not allowed)
Thank you for your answer!
A jet helmet is of course much safe than a bicycle helmet.
Jet helmets just look, I often look like a melon on my head – at least with me. Bicycle helmets are a bit slimmer and also lighter.
Kind regards
So I think security is more important. But everyone has to decide for themselves.
