“Hello mom, this is my new number”?

There are these messages where scammers try to get parents to transfer money to them.

Someone sent me a message like this via SMS and I would like to reply for fun and tease the person (I don't really intend to reveal anything private, of course).

I just wanted to ask if it's safe or if they can somehow access my data or whatever if I respond?

I’ve had two times. Had Hello Mom and Dad here is my new number because this and that etc. Thought it was my sister who couldn’t be because she would write to me with Hello brothers. That’s why I blocked the number, and I finished it.
