Is my anal fissure healing?

Hi guys. I've been experiencing pain in my anus after bowel movements for about 3-4 weeks. Initially, the pain lasted about an hour after a bowel movement.

Over time, however, these became more frequent and more frequent. I was fortunate enough to get an appointment with a proctologist quickly and was treated by a proctologist two weeks later (after the first symptoms appeared).

He told me that the wound on my anus was still fresh and prescribed me diltiazem ointment, to be precise this was Monday of this week.

Since using diltiazem ointment and eating psyllium husks, my stools have become much softer, and my pain has almost disappeared. I still feel slight pain after bowel movements, but it's really very mild compared to before and nothing like what I felt before.

I think this is also due to the soft stools. Before I started taking psyllium husks, my stools were very hard. I've now got this problem under control.

My question now is whether the fissure will heal due to the situation explained above?

The doctor said I should use the ointment for six weeks. That's fine, I'll do it. But I'm curious if it's normal that my pain has reduced so much, or if the fissure is shrinking or if it's becoming more prominent because of the ointment.

Best regards.
