Headache after wakeboarding?
Hello guys,
Today I went wakeboarding for the first time in a while because I like the sport and enjoy it. However, I now remember why I haven't done it for so long. I get mild to moderate headaches after wakeboarding. Am I falling into the water the wrong way? Or is my helmet not ideal for it? What could be causing this? Unfortunately, no one knows this feeling. PS I drink enough; it's safe from falls.
Maybe someone knows the feeling or can give me some tips. Muaw
Two ideas for this:
Idea 1: The water on the lake reflects the sunlight and thus also the heat energy contained therein. Maybe a light overheating, a light sunlight? But if the problem also occurs on cooler, more shady days, it is not. Maybe even before and after you're on the board, let's get into the water and also under the head properly.
I think they're more likely. Your muscle is too weak to stabilize you. As a result, it spreads enormously, stretches (so remains in the tightened position) and this gives tension headaches (toothing in the head through neck tension).
As I understand that it's going to run out on idea 2: Train the core and the upper body. Right now it's summer and you can do it outside. More and more communities have training parks with different metal frames and in doubt you can find scaffolds at any playground that are potentially suitable for:
Here are some simple exercises:
For all exercises there are tutorials on Youtube, and also film to compare if what you do has similarity to what you see on Youtube. But with this your upper body becomes strong enough to stabilize you cleanly and if my guess is correct, the tension and thus also the tension headache disappears.
